Back in December we told you all about the Stanley & Weiss Racing Team‘s plans to build a new Cadillac CTS-V Pro Mod to replace their current world-record-holding Camaro, and we’re back with the first spy photos of the car. Larry Jeffers Race Cars started on the build just this week and amazingly, they already have what appears to be a nearly-complete basic structure on the chassis table. These are the first photos of this car anywhere in the world.

While additional details are scant at this time, car co-owner Camp Stanley told us back in December that Jeffers and Garret Livingston and the rest of the team at LJRC would be working to take the team to even higher places.

John Stanley’s 5.64 quarter-mile elapsed time last season at the Street Car Super Nationals holds the record for the quickest for any door car anywhere in the world, period, but the performances across the pond over the last couple of weeks in the Arabian Drag Racing League’s events have outpaced the Stanley gang’s eighth-mile runs.

Not to be outdone, Noonan Race Engineering has been constructing an updated version of the screw-blown Hemi engine that set the records last season for the team to run in front of their familiar Lencodrive transmission/Neal Chance torque converter combination. 

The 2014 season will find the Stanley & Weiss team on the track at the PDRA‘s events, and if past performance is any indication of future performance, the rest of the field will be looking at John Stanley’s new CTS-V taillights soon. The Jeffers-built CTS-V is expected to be finished in June, and since the PDRA’s first event takes place over the weekend of April 3-6 at Rockingham Dragway in North Carolina, Camp assured us they’ll be there cracking asses with the record-setting old gear in Pro Extreme while awaiting completion of this car.
