Weldon Pump, a longtime manufacturer of pumps and valves for the aviation and defense industries and one of the leading makers of fuel pumps for the automotive aftermarket and racing industry, announced on Monday that effective immediately, the company, which has been family owned for nearly a century, will come under ownership.
The Bergstrom family, which has owned and operated Weldon Pump since its inception in 1918 and see it through World War II and the decades since, has sold the company to the Kelly Family (also known as Kelly Aerospace), another longtime family-owned operation in the aviation industry. The former company, The Bergstrom Company Limited Partnership dba Weldon Pump, officially ceased operations at the close of business on May 29, 2015, and transitioned to its new name, Weldon Pump LLC.
In a statement released by the company, they shared: “under our new name, we will be moving into the next chapter of Weldon’s long history, keeping the history and expertise in place, while continuing to look for ways to improve our company – to better support you and your companies.
The transition in ownership has been accomplished smoothly as we have not instituted any changes to our quality, repair, or manufacturing systems. The part number and configuration management will remain the same, allowing for a seamless and transparent crossover as we began business on June 1st as Weldon Pump LLC. Your current customer/vendor numbers as well as part numbers/sales & PO numbers will remain unchanged.”
Weldon Pump will remain in its Oakwood Village, Ohio location.
