‘Win on Sunday, Sell on Monday’ is the age-old advertising mantra in the automotive industry, and that even translates somewhat into the drag racing market. In this case, Frankie “The Madman” Taylor is offering up one of the quickest and fastest doorslammers in the world for sale just a few short weeks after clocking an insane 3.529 seconds at 213.50 MPH at a testing event in Qatar for the Arabian Drag Racing League’s winter racing season. The chassis comes out of the Jeffers Pro Cars Pro Mod factory with a C5 Corvette skin and the car features a CN block, Noonan X1 cylinder heads, and a PSI C-rotor screw blower. A Lencrodrive is used to transfer the power through a Neal Chance NXS torque converter back to the Mark Williams rearend.
The insane eighth-mile times come as a direct result of how well this car works in the short track, and a .874-second mark to the sixty-foot clock means that the Madman is movin’ and groovin’ before you can even say ‘one one thousand’.
Fully-equipped, the machine tops the scales at a skinny 2200 pounds with a 150-pound driver. Kudos to Jeffers for pulling off that achievement – it means that someone’s getting a state-of-the-art racecar that’s already right at the top of the heap.
The car is offered for sale for $185,000 fully-equipped, or as a roller for $100,000, and Taylor states that he’s available to continue to tune or drive the car if the new owner is willing to work out that sort of deal. One way or the other, if you’re in the market to go Pro Extreme racing, this could perhaps be the best deal on the globe to get right into the game.
