When you’re throwing serious horsepower and torque at a car, the rearend has to be up to the task. That’s where Moser Engineering’s 10-inch Pro Ford center section delivers.
This made-to-order third member is built with the kind of precise engineering, attention to detail, and strength that racers demand. Whether it’s going in a street car that sees weekend dragstrip duty or a dedicated racecar, the 10-inch Pro center section is a custom assembly, and every part of it reflects that.
You begin by selecting the case. Moser offers options from their standard stock-style casting to a thru-bolt aluminum unit or their top-tier nodular iron case that can take a beating without flinching. Each one is built for the abuse of hard and repeated dragstrip launches and assembled using solid pinion shims instead of crush sleeves. This is a simple but important upgrade that holds up better under load and makes future adjustments more predictable. The whole thing is torqued down using calibrated “Torque Guns,” not impact guns, so you’re not dealing with flat-spotted bearings or questionable pinion preload.
Moser builds all the core components—the cases, supports, yokes, and spools—right here in-house in the U.S., which means the tolerances are tight and the parts work together like they’re supposed to. It’s the kind of build quality that shows up when you’re pushing the limits week after week and everything just takes the abuse and holds together without any drama.
Options on Moser’s 10-inch Pro housings are aplenty: steel, profiled, or aluminum spools from 33- to 40-spline, spline counts from 31 to 40 for a range of power outputs, 1350 to 1480, pinion couplers, or Goethe CV coupler pinion yokes, aluminum pinion supports, a wide array of gears from 3.70 to 6.20 from US Gear or Motive Gear, bearing upgrades, and a full 10 different powder coat color options.
A Moser staple—the turnaround is quick. Unless you request powder coating (this adds 2-3 extra days, but is quick nonetheless), these units ship within two business days, packed in a custom plastic case to make sure they arrive ready to drop in. That kind of delivery speed is rare when you’re talking about built-to-order drivetrain parts, but Moser’s been doing this since the mid-’80s, and they’ve got the process dialed
This center section from the experts at Moser Engineering is for those who know what they need and don’t want to mess around. It’s built without compromises, and it’s made to get power to the ground without second-guessing what’s happening out back.
