If there was ever a time of the year that racers hate, it’s winter. For most of the United States during those cold and gloomy months, racecars are either torn down for repairs, or parked entirely due to the weather. Luckily, each year the U.S. Street Nationals are held at Bradenton Motorsports Park in sunny Bradenton, Florida, giving die-hard drag racers a chance to tow south for some sun and racing fun.
For those who can’t make the trip, all of the sunshine-filled racing action will be broadcast live and in HD on SpeedVideo January 27-29th, so make sure you bookmark the live stream page right here. This broadcast is made possible by presenting sponsor Mickey Thompson, along with the official sponsors Edelbrock, ProCharger, Comp Cams, FAST, Fueltech, and Late Model Engines.
Racers rarely need an excuse to hit the track, but the U.S.Street Nationals give them a reason to bring the whole family out, according to Bradenton Motorsports Park’s Alan Chervitz. “The race is really loved by many because it’s a way to escape the bad weather across the country and enjoy what Florida has to offer. There are many who turn this race into a full vacation where they get some racing in, hit the golf course, and even go to the beach.”
The U.S. Street Nationals has a different vibe than most big heads-up races. The event has a more relaxed feel where people are having fun and testing at the same time. It’s almost like everybody goes on vacation and a big race breaks out. That type of atmosphere has pushed the U.S. Street Nationals to be a big destination race and makes it extremely enjoyable.
So, if you’re looking for a way to escape those winter blues, mark your calendars for January 27-29th, and head to Bradenton Motorsports Park to catch all the great racing in the warm Florida sun. If you can’t make the trip, don’t worry, as SpeedVideo will broadcast the entire event thanks to presenting sponsor Mickey Thompson along with, Edelbrock, ProCharger, Comp Cams, FAST, Fueltech, and LME.
