This one’s for the history books. Funny Car Chaos is making its long-awaited debut at Osage Casino & Hotel Tulsa Raceway Park, and the timing couldn’t be better. As the track celebrates 60 years of adrenaline-fueled racing, fans are in for an unforgettable weekend of loud, fast, no-rules funny car action on April 25-26.
And if that’s not enough to fire you up, Don “The Snake” Prudhomme—one of drag racing’s most legendary names—is coming to Tulsa for the celebration. Fans will get the chance to meet him, snag an autograph, and watch as he kicks off the show with the kind of flair only a true Nitro-era icon can deliver.
“It’s a great time at Tulsa Raceway Park!” says Todd Martin, co-owner of the track. “When I had the dream 13 years ago just to help TRP make it to its 50th anniversary, and see what happens after that, I would have never thought Keith and I would now be celebrating TRP’s 60th anniversary. Many tracks never make 50 years, and now, for us to be one of the few in the country to make 60, we are very honored—because we know it could not be done without the support of the sponsors, racers, and the community.
“We wanted to bring back ‘The Snake’ because he has so much history here at TRP, from the 1972 Funny Car race to the 50th anniversary. The Snake and Mongoose movie ran longer in Tulsa than anywhere else in the country. I want fans and the community to get to meet this Nitro legend. As a kid, I never thought I’d get to meet him, and now we’ve become friends because of the sport we love and the place he helped make famous,” Martin says.
And it’s not just about nostalgia—this event is all-out horsepower mayhem.
“Simply put, the CHAOS is coming, and it’s going to be big!” says Chris Graves, creator of Funny Car Chaos. “We expect 32-plus outlaw funny cars for this event and highly anticipate our first-ever visit to historic Tulsa Raceway Park. There will be more funny cars on the property than fans in Tulsa have seen in half a century. Having a funny car superstar like Don Prudhomme in the house is icing on the cake and truly makes this a must-attend event on the schedule. We’ll see you at the CHAOS!”
Don’t wait until the last second to grab tickets. They’ll be available at the gate, but VIP starting line passes and RV spots at the finish line are going to disappear fast. Follow Tulsa Raceway Park and Funny Car Chaos on social media for updates—and get ready for a weekend of pure racing insanity.
