After last week’s unfortunate events for Whiteland, Indiana’s Billy Glidden has decided to bring out his Super Street Mustang for some testing and possibly some fun in Saturday’s Outlaw 10.5 Category. Glidden, who normally runs in the ADRL’s Extreme 10.5 category, had a parts failure last weekend – sending the car smashing into the wall and flipping upside down. The old Super Street Stang has been making a couple of hits to the 330 and clicking off early. The car seems to be launching straight as an arrow and looks to be on a good pass. The old Mustang has seen a best of a low 4.40 and at this point is here strictly for testing. Billy is using one of his 400 ci Small Blocks for this weekend’s event and is undecided if he is going to attend tomorrow or head home early after some more test hits.

Regarding the ADRL season, Glidden stated “I am unsure if when we will be back out but I am certainly not sitting on my hands”. Glidden then stated that he was actually here testing data for ADRL just using the available car for the moment. “I am not running the hemi” he stated but is using a simple 400 ci Small Block for the weekend.
Gainesville, Georgia’s Keith Berry is on the grounds today with his flat black Proline Powered Corvette. Keith came all the way up here to race in the LSX True 10.5 class. He went a career best in testing, which is also the unofficial record with a 8.37 at 165 and also a 5.40 in the 1/8. Keith is running a 427 ci LSX engine on nitrous built in-house at Proline Racing Engines and the beautiful Vette was built by Bell chassis works. Keith is looking forward to compete in the LSX True 10.5 class in tomorrow.
Dave Hinzman is here testing for Saturday’s Drag Radial class. While the car has been a career best of 4.57, Dave managed to click off a 4.70 in his first testing attempt. On his second pass the car was popping and banging itself down the racetrack. Dave is a local Michigan racer who uses APD to build his engines. Hinzman is using a 565 ci engine powered with a single turbo to bring up the boost. Dave looks to better throughout the day and to make some serious passes in tomorrow’s competition.

Jim Robbins and the AES racing team made the haul from Chicago for their first outing of the year. With a few passes under the belt the team managed a string of 4.4x’s resulting with the best of a 4.46 at 165. Robbins was among about 5 out outlaw 10.5 cars that dipped below the 4.50 zone. Jim is currently running a rather small 650 CI engine built in-house at AES but is showing that it has no problem hanging at the top of the pack. Robbins and team looks to dip into the 4.3x zone for Saturday.
