While the 2012 drag racing season did not go as planned for Jim Dunn Racing on the track, it was certainly a successful one off the track.
On the track the team struggled mightily, suffering 14 DNQs and winning just four rounds of racing. The team also experienced three massive explosions which destroyed three Funny Car bodies and a plethora of parts. Away from the track the team announced a multiple-year marketing partnership with Grime Boss Hand Wipes midway through the season. Rookie driver Todd Lesenko piloted a Grime Boss primary sponsored Funny Car at four events last year, including the U.S. Nationals.
The partnership was so successful that Grime Boss has opted to increase its sponsorship for 2013 and will take over as a primary sponsor. The Jim Dunn Racing Nitro Funny Car will feature Grime Boss livery for most of the season, except for a select few where additional team partners will be highlighted. Todd Lesenko will return as the driver for the 2013 Mello Yellow Drag Racing Series inaugural season.
