If it uses axles, gears, differentials, pinion supports, and the like, the team at Yukon Gear & Axle has a part to fit the bill. The renowned driveline and rearend component manufacturer has a host of products on display at the IMIS show here in Indianapolis, including an aluminum, three-bolt design case for the Ford nine inch rear end housing that’s aimed largely at the drag racing or high performance street/strip crowd.
This case is designed with big horsepower in mind, available with compatibility for lug bolt or non-lug bolt configurations. The non-lug bolt setup can withstand up to 1,200 horses, while the lug bolt version can take a little more at 1,500 horsepower. Such a rating makes this case a perfect setup for Super Comp, Super Gas, and other racers running 7.50 and slower.
The case features an adjuster lock that’s been moved to the side rather than being situated in the center, effectively increasing the overall cap strength by an impressive 200%. It also uses either a five or ten-bolt pinion support.
Although shown here in a polished finish, the Yukon nine inch case comes in a standard cast finish, and according to Yukon’s Arron Spitzer, who is a racer himself and utilizes this very case on his sleek Chevy II, is price very competitively while offering an exceptional level of strength and support for all of those nine-inch rears in use in the drag racing world.
