Now in its second year, the National Hot Rod Association’s partnership with FOX Sports continues to impress with more live and overall coverage than at any point in the sanctioning bodies’  66-year history. And at this weekend’s Fallen Patriots Route 66 NHRA Nationals, FOX will add a little something extra.

The annual JEGS Allstars, a special race-within-a-race spotlighting the best sportsman drag racers in the nation from each of the NHRA’s seven geographic divisions, will be aired for the first time, with live televised coverage of the final round on Saturday afternoon. The JEGS Allstars features competitors in Top Alcohol Dragster, Top Alcohol Funny Car, Competition Eliminator, Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, and Super Street in both an individual and team competition, with division bragging rights and bonuses on the line.

The final rounds will be aired during the live qualifying broadcast that airs on FS1 from 5-7 p.m. ET on Saturday, July 8. Complete coverage of the Allstars race, which were once featured annually on TNN during the NHRA’s fruitful relationship with Diamond P Sports, will be shown as part of the NHRA Lucas Oil sportsman show on FOX Sports 2 on Thursday, July 20, from 8-9 p.m. ET.

The JEGS Allstars awards more than $120,000 in total prize money, with a $20,000 bonus being split amongst the racers from the winning division. Adding to that, any racer who follows-up their Allstars crown with a win in the Route 66 Nationals on Sunday earns a double-up bonus from the NHRA.

The NHRA’s West Central Division 5 is the reigning team champions of the JEGS Allstars, having triumphed twice in the last three years.
