The John Force Racing (JFR) camp is hunting for more than just Wallys, they’re looking for world championships. After solid performances in Seattle, each team is hungry for more, and Sonoma Raceway is going to be their feeding ground during the DENSO NHRA Sonoma Nationals presented by PowerEdge.
Speed Queen Brittany Force Ready For Sonoma Nationals
Brittany Force has made her home in the 340-plus mph zone in 2025. Last weekend in Seattle, she knocked the scoreboards down with an insane 341.85 mph run on her way to the final round. While setting speed records is fun, winning races and titles is the goal. In 2022, Force won this event, and she’s ready to repeat that performance this weekend.
“The 2022 race was one of our strongest race day performances at the Sonoma Nationals,” Brittany said of a race in which she beat current point leader Shawn Langdon in the semifinals, “and we feel confident rolling into this track, back in our Monster Energy colors, that we can maintain our consistent performance.
“I love this track,” said the second youngest of Force’s drag racing daughters, the only woman to have won as many as 300 competitive rounds of racing in Top Fuel. “I love the area and would love to end Sunday in the winners’ circle with the Sonoma Raceway wine goblet! (a trophy unique to the track, celebrating its proximity to the Sonoma and Napa Valley wineries).”
Beckman Aims For Consistency At Sonoma
“Fast Jack” Beckman just needs a single round win to secure his spot in the 500-win club, but that’s just not going to be enough. The magic number for Beckman is four, as in the number of wins it takes to win the event on race day. To make that happen, Beckman knows his team has to be more consistent than they were in Seattle.
“Seattle was a mixed bag,” said the former Super Comp World Champ (2003). “On one hand, we had the quickest run of the entire event while winning the first round, a ‘nailed it’ 3.83 (at 335.17 miles per hour). On the other hand, we struggled more than we ever have with consistency. Sonoma should represent a return to our trademark.”
Prock Ready To Get Back On Track At Sonoma
Most racers would be thrilled to be leading the NHRA Funny Car points standings, but Austin Prock isn’t like most racers; he wants more. After winning two races in a row, Prock was knocked out of the Northwest Nationals in the second round. That’s not how Prock and his team like to end their race weekends, and Sonoma is an opportunity to get back on track.
“I’m ready to get going again,” he said. “Sonoma is one of my favorite tracks on tour. We had a good hot rod last year but came up short in the semifinals, so I’d like to add my name to the list of winners in wine country.”
