If you plan on using your car for heavy street/strip duty you’ll need a good gas tank to avoid any fueling issues. Classic Performance Products (CPP) has developed a great solution for 1962-1967 Nova owners who want a fuel tank that has plenty of capacity, and can handle fueling a high-horsepower engine.
A fuel cell is probably the easiest solution as a method for housing a high-performance car’s fuel, but if you don’t want to lose any trunk space, or don’t like the look of fuel cell in the trunk of your Nova, it won’t work. The CPP aluminum gas tank for the 1962-1967 Nova solves that problem since it’s designed to discreetly fit in the stock gas tank location. This aftermarket tank from CPP has plenty of capacity at 22.9 gallons, which means you can cruise the streets without constantly searching for a gas station.
The CPP aluminum gas tank will work with EFI and carbureted engines. Each tank has provisions for a universal style sending unit, along with the ability to use two fuel pumps. The tank has a surge tank built-in that feeds the engine, while the lift pump keeps the surge tank full. If you want to run an external fuel pump, the CPP tank is plumbed for that, too. The tank uses the stock filler neck system so you don’t have to make any modifications to the car.
