The racing season here in the United States may be in full swing but that’s not stopping shops from rolling out brand new cars that will see action here and abroad. Larry Jeffers Race Cars (LJRC) just completed a stunning 2017 Mustang that belongs to Hani Ali and will see action in Bahrain when the Arabian Drag Racing League kicks off their season. This nitrous-huffing Mustang is filled with top-shelf parts and should be a contender as soon as it hits the track.
Jeffers and his team at LJRC have made a name for themselves in the Pro Mod world by crafting some of the most elite of racecars, and Ali’s Mustang has all of that experience poured into it. The entire car was built in-house at LJRC from the chassis to wiring, plumbing, and even paint. The car features all of LJRC’s chassis innovations, one of their own floater rearends, and a set of LJRC’s custom ‘zoomie’ headers.
Providing the grunt under the hood is a massive Sonny’s Racing Components engine that measures well over 900 cubic inches. The big dose of nitrous comes courtesy of Speedtech and features one of their custom fuel injection systems. Controlling the nitrous engine functions will be a proprietary SpeedTech ECU, with RacePak electronics helping monitor the Mustang’s vitals, and a Davis Technologies BumpBox helping Ali get in the beams. The Mustang will also use LJRC’s new line of safety gear inside the car, with their seatbelt systems, and helping bring the car to a stop will be a pair of their parachutes.
The car will get some shakedown runs here and then it will be sent over to Bahrain where Ali will compete in the Pro Mod category in the ADRL.
