The ADRL is already full of action and the first event is still more than a week away. Plenty of new cars have popped up as well as new teams forming and some huge numbers being laid down, which most classified as record setting performances. Unfortunately we have learned that one of the newest cars to hit the circuit has been extensively damaged in testing. Mick Snyder formed a partnership with world champion Jason Scruggs and with the debut of his Pro Extreme Corvette things went south quick.
Stop over at the ADRL website to catch up on the latest rumors as well a full schedule of events for 2010.

On Monday Snyder and Scruggs were testing the new car at South Georgia Motorsports Park when things went wrong for the Snyder. The pass only lasted a split second as the throttle hung wide open and sent Snyder’s Corvette into the right side retaining wall head on. Snyder came to a rest farther down track and emerged uninjured. The damage is extensive and it is questionable whether they will be ready for the season opener in Texas. This is also the same car that Scruggs has set many records in, including the first 200mph pass and two world championships.
During a recent race in the state of Florida Michael Neal and his “Glass Doctor” Chevy II set a new track record at Emerald Coast Dragway. The track surface was judged as tricky and the team backed off the power a bit in an attempt to get from A to B. They were running on the 10.5W tire when they reset the track record of 4.13 seconds. Their effort landed them in the number two qualifying spot for the tracks season opener of heads-up racing. Neal would lose to Bill Clanton in the semi-finals which would leave his father Mike to face off with Clanton in the final. The elder Neal would take the event win over Clanton with a 3.91 second elapsed time.
