It’s been a busy end to the racing season for the folks at Neal Chance Racing Converters and their customers, and when you’re in the business of providing products that put records in the books and racers in the winners circle, busy is exactly what you want to be.

Neal Chance racers have scored a number of race wins and class records over the course of the last several weeks, with a few championships added to the list for good measure.

Rick Riccardi, who spent the majority of the year overhauling his racing program in an effort to challenge the frontrunners in the all-motor Hot Street and Pro Stock classes, accomplished just what he set out to do in his first race out at the NMRA season finale in Bowling Green, setting a new national record at 8.388-seconds and cruising to his first series victory. Good friend and many-time champ Charlie Booze Jr. was also victorious on the weekend as he edged out Don Bowles on the final day of the season to seal the Hot Street championship.

On the same weekend, Outlaw 10.5 ace T.J. Kasper blasted to what was then a new world record elapsed time of 4.115-seconds at 188.8 mph in his iconic twin-turbo Ford Mustang at the Cecil County Dragway in Maryland. Kasper drove to victory that weekend and nailed down his third-straight track championship in the process, marking a weekend he and the Gil Christy team won’t soon forget.

Mark Carlyle, who utilizes a bolt-together converter ins his wicked twin-turbo 2006 Corvette, began what would be an epic month for he and the IPS Motorsports squad in early October at the Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio. Carlyle clicked off a 7.10 and followed it up with a 7.09 at the Lingenfelter Performance Nationals that weekend. In the ensuing weeks, Carlyle lowered the LSX record to a 6.99 — the first and only six-second pass by an LSX Drag Radial car — at the NMCA World Finals in Indy. By November, his personal best stood at 6.82-seconds, good enough for the all-time LSX and IRS record.

Also at the NMCA World Finals, Steve Summers drove his beautiful Camaro equipped with an all-billet converter to the first Super Street 10.5W win of his career, downing Ed Parker with a stout 6.59 in the final. Fellow NCRC customer Don Baskin qualified No. 1 in Pro Stock, won the race, and the championship, as well.

Pro Modified veteran Todd Tutterow made some serious noise at the Shakedown Nationals in Englishtown, N.J. with his Neal Chance-equipped twin-turbo Plymouth Duster when he blasted to an unreal 262.49 mph speed that surpassed Melanie Troxel’s legal Pro Modified record of 258.71. The new NCRC All-Billet Lockup converter helped propel Tutterow to an incredible 67.6 mph back half.

On the same weekend in Englishtown, John Stanley recorded a stunning 3.59 in his Pro Extreme Camaro, while T.J. Kasper reeled off a 4.08 in his Mustang and Charlie Dolbin a 4.18 in his nitrous-aided ride in Outlaw 10.5.

Another customer that rolled into the record books was West coast racer and rodding aficionado Marc Meadors. Prior to the California Hot Rod Reunion, Meadors installed Neal Chance’s latest and greatest piece for supercharged cars — the NSX billet converter — and the results were swift and back-breaking. Meadors recorded a killer 5.873 at 248.75 mph in his “Pure Hell” ’68 Camaro on his way to the Nostalgia Pro Modified crown.

And in late October, Terry Elam laid down a 4.640 at 155.17 mph in Holly Springs, Miss.to claim the X275 turbo record in his small block Ford-powered Mustang.

Several other high-profile race teams have garnered accolades this fall as well, and you can read more on their accomplishments on the Neal Chance Racing Converters homepage.
