There is nothing worse than crawling under a car to check a transbrake connection and finding a hand covered in transmission fluid. We have all tried the silicone trick or the rubber grommet fix, but ATF has a way of defeating even the best intentions. It creeps up the wires, soaks the connector, and suddenly, you are chasing an electrical gremlin instead of focusing on the tree. ATI Performance Products realized that the old ways just weren’t cutting it, so they developed a new four-wire sealed pass-through connector system to finally keep the fluid inside the transmission where it belongs.
The problem isn’t just a messy floor. Transmission fluid travels right through the core of standard wire strands. It wicks its way past external seals and ruins the connection you relied on. ATI solved this by using a fully sealed connector design paired with mil-spec wiring that refuses to let fluid pass. They built the system around a standard 3/8-inch NPT threaded fitting. That means you can tap it into almost any transmission case with enough material to hold the thread, giving you total control over where your wiring exits the housing.

The engineering gets even better for anyone running a Turbo 400. Instead of forcing you to drill a new hole in a good case, ATI machined a double O-ring billet aluminum adapter. It pops directly into the factory kickdown hole to create a perfect seal without modifying the vintage metal. You can choose from four different kit configurations depending on how much work you want to do. They offer everything from bare-wire versions for custom looms to complete packages with AMP DTM sockets ready to plug in. These kits easily handle the high-amp draw of modern solenoids and provide the clean grounds necessary for consistent release times.
Reliability comes from eliminating the variables that cause failure. A solid, dry electrical connection means the car reacts the moment you let go of the button. ATI has given racers a way to clean up their wiring and stop the leaks for good. Installing a dedicated four-wire pass-through is a smart move for anyone who wants to spend more time racing and less time wiping down the transmission pan.
