Hunting down a block for an NHRA class-legal build was really starting to become a challenge, but thankfully BluePrint Engines is now able to make that process easier.
To give builders a better starting point, BluePrint Engines just secured full NHRA certification across their entire lineup of BluePrint Performance (BBP) cast-iron engine blocks. This green light from the sanctioning body gives competitors fresh, legal hardware to push down the quarter-mile.
Before earning official track approval, these bare blocks had to meet strict dimensional and material standards set by the national racing organization. The newly sanctioned platforms cover popular architectures, including small-block Chevy, big-block Chevy, LS, and small-block Ford designs.
These BluePrint Performance blocks are approved for use in Stock, Super Stock, and Competition Eliminator classes.
Through a partnership with a foundry located in Germany, the company handles the initial pouring of the cast iron.
Once the raw metal arrives stateside for the final touches, technicians perform all critical machining operations at the corporate facility in Kearney, Nebraska. Keeping everything in-house for the finishing work keeps quality control tight before the hardware ever hits a shipping crate.
During the announcement, Sales and Marketing Manager Jason Bruce notes, “NHRA approval is an important step for our performance block program and for the engine builders and racers who rely on our products.” He then detailed the strategy behind their domestic operations.
Bruce adds, “We have invested heavily in our manufacturing and machining capabilities here in Kearney, and we’re excited to give racers another high-quality, competition-approved foundation for their engine programs. We look forward to expanding our involvement with the NHRA community and supporting racers at the track.”
