Over the years, there have been many memorable moments in the NHRA. The NHRA is currently counting down the 60 most memorable movements as voted on by fans and the moments are being posted to Facebook. Fans can hop over to the official NHRA Facebook page and vote on the top moments by simply liking the ones they think are the best. After all the votes are in on the top 60, the list will be whittled down to the top 20.

The process will repeat with the top 20 moments in NHRA history and then move to the top ten moments and the process starts yet again. After the top ten, the moments will be cut down to the single greatest moment in NHRA history. Right now, the greatest moments are at 33 out of 60. This particular moment is the 1994 run by Kurt Johnson to break the ET record in the Pro Stock class. This happened during qualifying in Englishtown when Johnson was only in his second year of being a Pro Stock driver.

Johnson recorded the first 6-second pass in the history of the class at Englishtown. The pass was 6.98 seconds at 196.54 MPH. It may not seem like 1994 was that long ago to some of the racers that have been around for a while. Think about the fact that barely breaking the 6-second mark was a big deal in 1994 and Pro Stock sees times half a second faster than that mark routinely today.
