Nitro Rewind: Charlotte Edition – Part One

It doesn’t seem like it could already be that time of year, but alas, the final Nitro Rewind of the NHRA’s regular season is upon us, as the latest episode takes a look back at the biggest race on the schedule – the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals at the fabled Lucas Oil Raceway. And with countless story lines in the nitro pits, between the jubilant winners at Indy and the upcoming Countdown to the Championship, this episode – hosted as always by the one and only Bill Stephens – is split into two episodes, with Part Two to be released this week.

“When we looked at the footage, there was no way we could just make one show. We have seen that if Nitro Rewind gets close to 10 minutes, we see a drop in viewership. We decided to split the show, and we hope everyone will enjoy this two-parter,” Ashley Force Hood, John Force Entertainment president, told NHRA.com.

“Going into the Countdown, we are going to continue to talk with the winners, but we also want to focus on drivers both inside and outside the top 10. Every driver that qualifies will have an impact on the Top Fuel and Funny Car Full Throttle championship, so we will try and talk with as many of them as possible.”

In this Part One, we hear from three-time Indy winner and first-time Top Fuel champ Antron Brown, along with first-time Indy champ Mike Neff, who scored a big win over Bob Tasca in the Funny Car finale. Stephens and company also highlight the moving 9/11 tribute that took place at the Lucas Oil Raceway prior to Monday’s eliminations in Indianapolis, complete with the parading of a piece of the World Trade Center down the return road and the unveiling of John Force’s 9/11 tribute Ford Mustang that will be campaigned at the zMax Dragway in Charlotte.

As always, this and all prior episodes of Nitro Rewind can be found by visiting the NHRA’s YouTube channel or be searching Nitro Rewind on YouTube.
