NMCA Hosting Dave Duell Classic Next Weekend In Bowling Green

If you’re a fan of the old school Nostalgia Super Stock racing that harkens back to the golden years of this great sport, then next weekends Quick Fuel Technology NMCA Muscle Car Nationals is one you certainly won’t want to miss, as the Beech Bend Raceway Park will play host the annual Dave Duell Classic.

As many as 70 of these classic examples of high performance American iron are expected in Bowling Green as racers from all across the country honor the memory of Duell, one of the most instrumental and influential ambassadors of the Nostalgia Super Stock movement and a lifelong supporter of the Mopar and Chrysler brands and all-Mopar events.

Dave’s son Doug, a decorated Nostalgia Super Stock and NHRA Stock Eliminator racer in his own right, organized the Dave Duell Classic five years ago in conjunction with several of his fellow racers as a tribute to his father. Previously contested during the annual Monster Mopar Weekend in St. Louis, the Classic comes to Beech Bend and the NMCA for the first time this season, and is sure to add plenty of added entertainment to a weekend already chocked full of heads-up and index racing.

The Dave Duell Classic is open to all brands of vehicles, and all of the racers will be parked together on the Beech Bend grounds. As well, all racers are invited to a special BBQ hosted by AFCO Racing Products.

The winner of the Dave Duell Classic will grab a cool $4,000 payday, along with contingencies from the NMCA. Nostalgia Super Stock will receive four qualifying runs on the weekend, with two on Friday, one Saturday morning, and the final run on Saturday counting as the first round of class eliminations.
