NMCA West Adds Pro Comp Class For NHRA Super Class Racers

The NMCA West racing series, in an effort to provide a place for more racers on the West Coast to strut their stuff, has added a new class for the 2013 racing season. The new class, dubbed Pro Comp, is sponsored by K&N Filters and is designed to give all of those racers currently legal for NHRA Super classes another shot at a Wally by competing in the NMRA West Flowmaster Drag Racing Series on the West Coast.

According the NMCA’s president, Charlie Harmon, the addition of the class came rather easily after assessing the 2012 season and the local racer contingent’s needs.

“The idea came from knowing that one of the largest segments of racers here on the West Coast is comprised of those who race in the Super Classes. We didn’t have a class really available that fit their style of racing. After last season it was apparent there was a void with the classes we have in the NMCA West that needed to be filled to offer these racers another place to race, and also win an NHRA Wally through the NHRA Unleashed presented by Aerospace Components program,” said Harmon.
