OSCA EZ Street seems to be all Noel Borg so far this season, finishing up at Toronto Motorsports Park just as he did in the season opener at Grand Bend, in the winner’s circle for the 2nd event in a row. While he wasn’t able to repeat grabbing the #1 qualifier slot, a #2 spot would have to suffice. As the tech cards were counted, OSCA officials realized this was one of their best car counts in a long time, despite holding the event on Father’s day weekend.

Running a string of 7.90’s in the spectacular Sunday weather conditions, eliminations proved to be a breeze for Borg and his split bumper ’70 Camaro, who eventually made it right on into the finals against Steve Argiropoulos, who’s 7.988 wasn’t enough to win against Borg’s best of the day – 7.889 at 180 mph. With 2 victories already in the bag and a $1220 purse check in his back pocket, Borg takes an early 11 point lead in the standings over Mark Azevedo. Last year’s champ Sergio Longo is looking to make a comeback, but currently sits second to last in the points.

Inside Borg’s ’70 Camaro is a 450 C.I. small block with a F2 Procharger built by Proline Racing. Stay tuned for OSCA’s “Summer Sizzler” at Toronto Motorsports Park on July 17th – will Borg continue to have a stranglehold on the EZ Street class, or will someone else show him who’s boss? If we had to guess, it’s looking like an all too familiar Proline domination building up. Check back later this month to see how Noel Borg and all the other OSCA contenders run as the summer racing season cooks up some awesome competition up north.
