The IHRA Pro Mod ranks just got a new heavy hitter. Nate Sayler, a name well-known in the No Prep Kings world, made his official Pro Modified debut this weekend at the IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series event at Darana Motorsports Park–Dunn, and he’s brought some serious new hardware.

Sayler is rolling out a brand-new, Quarter-Max-built ’67 Mustang with an awesome engine combination. It’s a one-of-a-kind, screw-blown ProLine MH8 4.9 Hemi tuned by Lee White. “It’s the only one in existence right now,” Sayler said. “I wanted the very first one, and it worked out that way.” While he’s a veteran of fast doorslammers, this is his first time behind the wheel of a screw-blown car. “You know, I was a little nervous going into it,” Sayler admitted, but after cutting a “perfect light” on his first test pass in Bradenton, that nervousness quickly turned to excitement.

With his experience, Nate Sayler could have debuted anywhere, but he chose the IHRA for a specific reason: the payout. “The IHRA format right now – $50,000 to win, $10,000 for second – it just seems like it’s for the racers,” he said. This is particularly important for his operation. “People may not believe it, but I’m a budget racing program,” Sayler stated. “I don’t have big sponsors – I’m my big sponsor.”

This weekend’s race isn’t just a one-off appearance; it’s the start of a new chapter. Sayler plans to run the full IHRA Nitro Series schedule in 2026. With a unique ProLine Hemi under the hood and a $50,000 prize on the line, he’s all-in on this new venture. Keep an eye on Nate Sayler; he’s here to prove that a self-funded racer with the right combination can run with the best of them.
