The Outlaw Syndicate Small Tire Series made its highly anticipated debut at the North Florida Motorplex this weekend, bringing together racers and fans for an action-packed weekend. Spearheaded by Street Outlaws stars Ryan Martin and Shawn “Murder Nova” Ellington alongside Carson Baker, the series launched with five classes and over $30,000 in total payouts.

Headlining the event was Outlaw Small Tire, contested on a 28×10.5 tire with a massive $20,000 purse. The final round featured another known Street Outlaw face, Scott Taylor, against Bo Yardley. Yardley came out strong with a .0145 reaction time compared to Taylor’s .1115, but lost traction before the 60-foot mark. Despite attempting to pedal through it, Yardley was unable to recover, allowing Taylor to make a clean pass and sail to the win light for the $20,000 payday.

In the Outlaw 5.30 Index class, racing for $5,000 under a no-time format, Charlie Johnson faced Brett Childs in a tightly contested final. While the boards are turned off for this class, what we can tell you is that this was a close one! Johnson gained the advantage at the hit and held on for a holeshot victory in what ended up being an incredibly close race.

Johnson doubled down in the Outlaw 6.50 Index class, meeting Matt Porter in what was another tight race, and one of only two categories with scoreboards active. Johnson left first with a .0138 reaction time to Porter’s .0200, and both drivers ran under the 6.50 index. Johnson crossed with a 6.4846 while Porter ran a slightly quicker 6.4841, but broke out by more, handing Johnson the win. The performance capped off a strong weekend for Johnson, earning a combined $7,000 across both classes.

The Daily Driver class, also paying $2,000 to win, saw JR Hostetter take on Michael Baxley in the final. Baxley had an unfortunate run-in with the wall on Friday night but was able to the car fixed enough to continue competition on Saturday. Despite the effort and ever-determined drag racer mentality, he was unable to light that final win light of the night, with Hostetter taking the event win.

In Jr. Dragster competition, racing for a $1,500 prize, Declan Paul captured a milestone victory. Facing JJ Branhof in the final, Paul turned on the win light after Branhof went red at the start. The victory marked Paul’s first career win, an impressive achievement considering this was just her third race in her Jr. Dragster career.

With strong participation, competitive racing, and standout performances across all classes, the Outlaw Syndicate Small Tire Series debut proved to be a major success and set the tone for what promises to be an exciting future.
