After making an attempt to sell the car back in April, and the car sitting idle in the shop for quite some time, Greg over at Racer’s Edge Tuning finally decided this cool Modular ‘Stang was going to stay with the guys at RET, and gave her a good cleanup in prep for some racing, along with a couple small adjustments and changes.
Checkout Greg’s post on SVTPerformance for the cool pictures and updates, or read up on RacersEdgeTuning.net for more on the car.
Every performance shop needs a shop car to show their potential customers and fans what they’re capable of, and for RET this Mustang is that car. With its 281 C.I. 4v Mod-motor, ported heads, Big Stuff 3 EFI and twin Precision 67mm turbos it doesn’t fail to impress, laying down a solid 8.68 at 160 mph in its first 1/4 mile showing, and runs 5.40 to the 1/8th. Since Greg has chosen to keep the car, he’s hoping to get her back to the full quarter mile to greatly improve on that number. After all, it was their one and only 1/4 mile run with the car.
From their sweet handiwork on the custom 8.8″ rear end, flawless fuel line and wiring routing to the sweet Ford colors adorning the exterior, this car really shows off the high-end race-car capabilities of RET. RET isn’t just a mod-motor powerhouse, as one of their latest shop cars to go along with this one is going to be 4th generation drag radial Camaro boasting a 454 C.I. LSX power-plant. After building a few 454″ LSX’s for customers this year, Greg needed to get one for himself and his own pride and joy.
Hopefully Greg will report back with some successful 1/4 mile passes on not only the Mustang, but the Camaro when it’s ready for the strip.
