Jerry Bickel Race Cars of Moscow Mills, Missouri has always been one of the leaders in development of cutting edge race cars, and Randy Bryan’s new ADRL Pro Extreme ’70 Chevelle will not be an exception. Bryan’s stunning and sleek new Chevelle is another example of raising the competition to a new level. Having names like the iconic Mike Moran and Jerry Bickel in your corner can only be beneficial, and it definitely raises the expectations for Bryan and this new ride.
Bryan’s Chevelle is pretty slick, with its traditional Silver and black stripes paint scheme. Flawless of course. This Chevelle will be featuring a Mike Moran Motorsports billet, Hemi-headed 5.3 bore space engine, fed by Garrett 94mm twin turbo’s, stuffing enough boost in the big block to power the space shuttle. A Bruno Lenco transmission will ensure power gets to the pavement.
Bryan expects to be testing soon. The Chevelle will makes its debut at the ADRL season opener at Royal Purple Raceway, March 30-31 in Baytown, Texas for the ADRL Dragpalooza VII.
The Pro Extreme class has been completely dominated by the screw blowers, without question. However, now that we’re seeing more and more purpose built turbo cars like Bryan’s Chevelle, Mike Moran’s new Mustang, and former champion Frankie Taylor coming to join the dark side, things may begin to change. When will we see a turbo car in the 3.60’s? Can these racers qualify and go rounds? Is it a matter of time before turbo cars are the on top of the ladder and blower cars are trying to fight and claw their way back to the top? The diversity of Pro Extreme is about to grow tremendously.
