The Flexjet Factory Stock Showdown Series wrapped up its 2025 campaign in St. Louis with a classic Camaro-versus-Camaro final at the NAPA Auto Parts NHRA Midwest Nationals. When the dust settled, it was Ricky Hord who came out on top, taking down Scott Libersher to grab his second career national event victory.
Hord’s path to the winner’s circle wasn’t easy. Rolling in as the No. 9 qualifier after squeaking into the field on the last qualifying shot, the Ohio-based racer wasted no time making noise in eliminations. Round one saw him score a holeshot win over Lenny Lottig, his .026 light paired with a 7.762, beating Lottig’s quicker 7.758.
“This was a hard-fought race,” said Hord. “We didn’t get in until the last round of qualifying and ended up ninth. Getting this win is unbelievable, especially considering we’ve only managed to make it out to three races this year. That made it even more special.”
Sunday eliminations brought even more drama. Hord squared off with newly crowned world champ Mark Pawuk in round two, and it was as close as it gets: both drivers left with .031 reaction times, but Hord’s 7.688 edged Pawuk’s 7.689 by one-thousandth of a second.
In the semis, Hord cut a perfect .000 light against Alex Anderson, who went red, sending the Maximum Effort VI Camaro to the money round. The final ended on another red-light note, this time courtesy of Libersher, handing Hord the win and capping his season with a Midwest Nationals title.
