As the official trailer/motorcoach dealer of Dragzine, Flying A Motorsports’ extensive lineup of new and used motorhomes and toterhomes, race car trailers, stacker trailers, car haulers, and cargo trailers are highlighted monthly as the Rig of the Month.
The October edition features this unique toterhome available at the Flying A’s location in Cuba, Missouri. This Renegade RV conversion is built on a Freightliner tandem rear-axle chassis and powered by a 430 Caterpillar C-12 diesel followed by an Eaton 13-speed transmission.
The rig has 286,000-miles on the odometer. But when you consider the reliable miles placed on one of these chassis as a working truck, that is still a good number. – Alan Cape, President of Flying A Motorsports
Related to the miles on the odometer, Cape also explains the recorded maintenance schedule combined with the Flying A inspection of the overall truck should be considered along with the low asking price of $79,000.
“The truck has good bones,” Cape describes. “Though the couch has wrinkles, it is still in working order. The appliances, heat, and air-conditioning all function properly. The tires are up to date. The worst thing I tell potential buyers is the baggage doors need some work.”
On the outside, the Renegade hauler has twin-tandem rear axles with air ride suspension. Good used tires with proper tread are mounted on aluminum rims. There is also an electric awning and slide-out for the living area.
“The outside has a vinyl graphics wrap that can be removed. Steam removal will expose the factory outer finish without damage,” Cape adds. “Someone with ambition can do it themselves, or have it removed professionally. We can have a local specialist do the removal as well for an additional fee.”
On the inside, there is a dinette and pull-out sleeper sofa. Along with the bedroom area, there are also sleeping quarters over the truck’s cab area. The kitchen area has a refrigerator and freezer, microwave, sink and counter space, and gas cooktop.
Multiple television and entertainment electronics are located throughout the hauler. Renegade conversions are known for their durability when it comes to lighting and fixtures used throughout the interior.
“To say the truck needs some tender loving care isn’t really true,” Cape finishes. “It shows its miles and usage, but when you look at it overall, everything functions properly as it should.”
Flying A Motorsports does have an extensive shop able to retrofit trucks to match your existing trailer, or pair this rig with one of its new or used race trailers in stock. The Flying A service shop also has specialists that can update any used toter or motorhome. Retrofits or upgrades on the inside or outside to the customer’s specifications are performed daily.
The Flying A Motorsports website has a dedicated page listing this specific toter, along with the many other new and used inventory. There is also a payment calculator for easy financing services through Flying A Motorsports, as well.
