Rig Of The Month: Flying A Motorsports Features 36′ Renegade Stacker

As the official trailer/motorcoach dealer of Dragzine, Flying A Motorsports’ extensive lineup of new and used motorhomes and toterhomes, race car trailers, stacker trailers, car haulers, and cargo trailers will be highlighted here in a monthly feature, the Rig of the Month.

The rig offering this month is a 36-foot stacker trailer built by Renegade and located at Flying A’s Cuba, Missouri location. The trailer was initially sold by Flying A in 2006 and has been kept in exceptional condition.

This month, Flying A announced their new partnership with Elite Motorsports. “We have entered into a new cooperative effort with Elite Motorsports to offer our extensive inventories to both of our faithful customers,” Alan Cape from Flying A explains. “Each of us has a strong clientele in different sectors of motorsports, so this is a great way to provide more hauler/trailer options.”

“The Renegade RV brand stacker trailer design includes an 18-foot upper deck storage area above the forward workshop area,” Cape says. “It should be able to easily accommodate a total of three cars depending on what they are, of course.”

A wealth of cabinets, drawers and closet space are a trademark of Renegade's stainless steel and aluminum storage quality.

It is powered by a 12-kilowatt Onan generator that feeds a 2.5-ton Bard heating and cooling system.

More heavy-duty features include an extended hitch tongue and an inboard air compressor that feeds three different air line systems throughout the rig. Extensive interior and exterior quartz lighting fill the stacker walls as well.

The side access to the trailer interior is a wide 54-inch door outfitted with a wide aluminum doorstep. Cape adds, “With all of the lighting, air system and electrical outlets, this trailer is very work-friendly when it comes to race day.”

This unit was initially sold to famed Street Outlaws racer, Ryan Martin. The Flying A crew sees many of their customers’ trailers come back for resale when racers want to make an upgrade. Cape adds, “Like all of Ryan’s stuff, this trailer has been well cared for.”

The rolling stock is in good shape with aluminum wheels, full-size spare, and is lined with 36-inch stainless steel along the bottom exterior. A 5,000 lb winch will raise and lower the rear door and a second winch will move cars into the trailer.

The trailer is equipped with a 13-foot hydraulic lift and an additional 18-foot upper deck storage area. This will possibly accommodate a total of three cars or a wealth of spares and pit vehicles.

“The aluminum cabinetry has always seen impressive workmanship from Renegade,” Cape continues. “Our build sheet below lists a large number of cabinets and shelves along with a 7-drawer toolbox. The extensive stainless steel backsplashes and cabinet-ends give it a first-class appearance.”

In the heavy-duty hardware department, the trailer is equipped with triple 10,000-pound torsion axles, a 13-foot interior hydraulic lift, and a 9-foot x 88.5-inch ramp rear door.

Some of the additional amenities include a 100-gallon freshwater tank built-in to the unit plus an AM/FM/CD stereo system with internal and external speakers. One more convenience is a backup camera system.

A selection of 16 D-rings mounted along the floor will make securing various car combinations an easy task. The roofline of the trailer is equipped with an observation package.

Renegade trailers have an exceptional reputation for durability and function. Cape finished, “A good Renegade truck or trailer typically sells very quickly because there are many waiting for this specific brand. The phone will begin to ring once the news of this one gets out.”
