As the official trailer/motorcoach dealer of Dragzine, Flying A Motorsports’ extensive lineup of new and used motorhomes and toterhomes, race car trailers, stacker trailers, car haulers, and cargo trailers will be highlighted monthly. This July installment features a Performax stacker trailer.

The Performax rig shown is a 34-foot long stacker trailer with triple 8000-pound Torg Flex axles. All the Performax lines use steel framerails with remaining all-aluminum construction. All feature a one-piece .040-inch aluminum walk-on roof and a .063-inch aluminum exterior aluminum skin.
Alan Cape, President of Flying A Motorsports, noted the variety of trailers and hauler lines available at its Cuba, Missouri location. “We feature seven major lines that spread across every price point and list of features. From budget to the very top-of-the-line rigs, we can offer the brand and options to fit any racer’s desires.”
This is the first Performax Trailer Dragzine has featured in the monthly installments. “The Texas company has been around a long time and builds a great group of tag, gooseneck, stacker, and semi-trailers,” Cape says. “They come with a higher-than-average price tag, but the workmanship and feature lists align very well with the money if someone is looking for that top of the product.”
For someone who can’t afford or doesn’t want to pay the price for, say a T&E Auto Hauler trailer, this Performax trailer is the logical next step. Their aluminum cabinetry is exceptional and details such as the one-piece trim that joins all side walls and roof are a feature found in very few trailer lines. – Alan Cape
This stacker is equipped with a 26-foot long Stinger brand dragster lift. Two dragsters plus a door-car can be accommodated, along with a second story attic storage that could easily accept additional pit vehicles.
The trailer has a 2-ton Bard air-conditioning unit built in. Though it does not currently have a generator or air compressor, this is a popular arrangement for Flying A Motorsports. Many customers want a specific line of compressor or generator; Flying A can custom install from a variety of options, or the customer can complete the installs.
“This trailer has an air line package pre-installed with both interior and exterior outlets,” Cape continues. “There is also an EPA/CARB-compliant fuel tank and fuel line pre-installed. With those features. it’s just a matter of choosing your own brand and size of air compressor and/or generator.”
Also in the pre-fabrication department, the wall structure on the passenger side has been fabricated to structurally support an Arrow awning if the customer desires. This awning option can be installed by Flying A Motorsports at its extensive service facility or can be purchased or self-installed by the customer at a later date.
Alan comments that the Performax line of trailers holds its value as a sound investment because of their construction quality. “Their aluminum cabinetry and overall construction quality holds up over the miles. That gives back to the owner a significant benefit in used or trade-in value when you consider moving to a different trailer.”

There are 17.5-inch Alcoa wheels on the triple axle trailer, plus a spare tire/wheel included. Electric brakes are on all axles plus a breakaway switch and battery supply. A hydraulic jack with dual stabilizer legs lifts the front of the trailer.
The Missouri location for Flying A hosts a wealth of new trailers. Since this was the first Performax brand trailer we have featured, we asked Alan about the number of overall trailer lines he carries.
“Good question,” Cape responds. “We offer Performax, T&E Auto Haulers, Vintage, Pace, Haulmark, Intech, and Continental Cargo. Not only do we also have a ton of used inventory from many other brands, but we are also partnered with Elite Motorsports out of Oklahoma where customers can pick up our trailer lines there as an option. Flying A offers their lines of trailers and haulers here in Missouri.”
