The Shakedown at E’Town, a race that’s grown into one of the premier drag racing events in the country, is set to celebrate its tenth year of insane doorslammer action at the fabled Raceway Park in Englishtown this fall, and it will do so with a brand new name.
New York Motorsports owner and founder and promoter of the Shakedown at E’Town, David Hance, announced last week that the annual street-legal doorslammer drag race will now be known as The Shakedown Nationals.
“With our 10th annual event happening in 2012 and the growth of our Shakedown at E’town event over the past couple of years, we have reached the level of a national event and felt the name Shakedown Nationals echoes this prolific evolution,” Hance said.
The tenth annual Shakedown Nationals will take place Friday through Sunday, October 12-14, 2012, at the Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, N.J. A new website taking on the branding change has already been launched and will be updated with information as the event draws nearer.
DRAGZINE was in attendance at last year’s Shakedown, and take it from us that even if you have to hitchhike your way to Englishtown, you’ll want to be there for one of the best drag races there is.
“We appreciate our many racers, sponsors, and fans and look forward to our 10th annual Shakedown Nationals,” Hance said, adding that this year’s event will include “many exciting awards honoring our past champions and longtime sponsors.”
