A galaxy of Gassers generated an enormous amount of attention for the Inaugural Gasser Invitational, which was part of the 24th Annual PRW Power Blue Suede Cruise presented by Cometic Gasket, Inc., July 25-27, 2025, at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.
Inspired by the classic cars that go wheels-up at the hit and wild as they haul down track, Summit Motorsports Park president Bill Bader introduced the new feature for the 2025 event.
“Summit Motorsports Park fans love Gassers, and Summit Motorsports Park loves putting on shows, so this was a perfect fit for the 24th Annual PRW Power Blue Suede Cruise presented by Cometic Gasket,” said Bader. “When I announced in the thick of the event that I wanted to make this a part of this event for years to come, there was a lot of enthusiasm, so we are looking forward to making this even bigger.”

Drivers gathered for a chance to win a share of $13,300 and an NHRA Speed For All Wally. After a series of big, boisterous burnouts and rounds of racing, Shane Lile of Taylorsville, Kentucky, and Kim Brush of Amherstburg, Ontario, met each other in the final round of eliminations in the Inaugural Gasser Invitational. They recorded close reaction times, and Lile went to the Summit Motorsports Park Winner’s Circle with a 7.94 in a red 1955 Chevy in the eighth-mile over Brush, who went through the traps at 9.41 in a blue 1955 Chevy.
“Shane Lile and Kim Brush can now go down in history as the first winner and runner-up of the Inaugural Gasser Invitational at Summit Motorsports Park, and that is something to write home about,” said Bader.
Summit Motorsports Park is now preparing for the 48th Annual Cornwell Tools Night Under Fire on Saturday, Aug. 2. Fans who have tickets for Saturday can also head to the park for a Friday, Aug. 1, qualifying show. For information, visit Summit Motorsports Park.
