Sweet ’59 Impala Wagon, Coolness James Dean Couldn’t Turn Down!

With wagons becoming so popular amongst the hot rodders, we had to show you yet another cool family-oriented hot rod. This Chevy Beecher has enough custom touches to keep its image cool, and yours free from embarrassment. It’s a ride even James Dean would be proud to own. Check out the ’60 Mercury grille, it’s so damn cool it hurts! With its chrome reverse rims and wide white’s, it makes a scene everywhere it goes.

Power comes from a Chevy small block 350 with a mild hydraulic cam and Carter four barrel carburetor, attached to a turbo 350 transmission. Built with reliability in mind, the engine has plenty of power to get this baby moving, whether it’s blasting to the grocery store and back, or on a long-haul, it’s just what the doctor ordered. Because this wagon sees a lot of street action, the owner was smart installing a set of 3.08 into the Curry Enterprises 9-inch Ford rear end, it definitely helps it keep up with traffic on the highway.

The suspension upgrades include complete disc brake changeover and air ride suspension, which allows for the mean” in the weeds’ stance,” when this wagon is parked. A powerful CD changer stereo with DVD screen keeps you entertained while you’re on your way to your favorite cruise night. That also means it won’t hurt to keep a copy of “American Graffiti” or “Two-Lane Blacktop” in the glove compartment to watch at the next car show.

The instrument cluster in this wagon is full of Moon Eyes gauges, that seriously add to the old-school hot rod theme. Every time, we see one of these cars built from someone’s ideas and a fueled passion for cars, rather than a huge bank account. We’re reminded that it doesn’t take a  fat bankroll to turn out a really cool ride.

One cool wagon, that's for sure!
