- Mario’s Lexus has been raced in various configurations for over two years in the Import Face-off, Battle of the Imports and the NSCRA and shares the basic platform of the Supra. The motor coming out made about 1000 horsepower and the new combination will make over 1400. For that some needed chassis mods would be necessary, enter TRZ.
A 25.3 chassis stock suspension Lexus SC300 is not something one sees every day. So when Todd Brash from TRZ Motorsports sent some pictures of one of their latest projects, I had to find out more about it. The car belongs to Mario Deniz, a Sales Rep for Titan Motorsports out of Orlando, Florida. For those who don’t know, Titan Motorsports is a premier retail parts and performance installation shop specializing in turbochargers, Toyota Supra’s as well as working on European brands such as BMW. They have also branched out to the ADRL with a Scion TC driven by Gary White, and in fact won a recent event in Extreme 10.5, taking home the Speedtech Drags III title with a string of 3.90’s.
The car’s chassis is nearly complete and built to 25.3 specification for structural integrity and safety. Mike and Todd also used the car to prototype suspension and steering pieces for the Supra market since the parts are the same. The manual rack kit, rear lower control arms, tubular steering column kit, manual brake firewall adapter kit should be available soon. They are also working on anti roll bar design for the independent rear suspension.
Mario is looking to get into the sevens with the car when it’s all finished and with a company motto of, “If you want to be the best, you have to be the best” I have no doubt they will succeed.
