A familiar face is busy preparing a return to the NMCA’s headliner Pro Street category in 2011, making what already looks to be one of the toughest fields in years just that much more of a dogfight once the season kicks off in Bradenton in March.

Rob Adler has confirmed that he will campaign all seven scheduled NMCA points events in 2011 behind the wheel of a new Tim McAmis-built 1957 Chevy. The A-Team Speed Shop ride will receive motivation from a 521 cubic inch Hemi powerplant topped by a hi-helix Kobelco 14-71 supercharger backed by a three speed LencoDrive transmission. The car will also feature a Strange Ultra center section and ride on a set of 34.5-inch Hooiser slicks.

“With the recent changes to the rules for Kook’s Custom Headers Pro Street, we are really hoping to see a lot of new teams competing this season. I’m really looking forward to racing with the NMCA again.”

The A-Team Speed Shop team carries a rich history in street legal drag racing, with Randy piloting the teams famous ’67 GTO “Goat” back in the 1990’s in the NMCA and NSCA with great success, and eventually transitioning to the Super Chevy Show Nitro Coupe category for some years. Now the team is back where they belong in the NMCA, and if their past success is any indication, their blower combination should really shake up the big-inch nitrous-led category in 2011. Is it March yet?
