The automotive scene in Brazil just experienced something historic. Enthusiasts from all over the country gathered in Nova Santa Rita for the grand opening of FuelTech Motorsports Park. This was not just a typical ribbon-cutting ceremony for a racetrack. It turned into a massive festival that celebrated car culture in a way the region has rarely seen. The energy was high, and the smell of burning rubber filled the air as thousands of fans arrived to witness the new chapter for the venue formerly known as Velopark.
The celebration actually started on the road two days prior. A massive caravan of over 1,000 vehicles departed from Parque Dream Car in São Roque on February 5th. They traveled roughly 1,200 kilometers south to the event site. The convoy included everything from classic muscle cars to modern performance builds. FuelTech Global CEO Anderson Dick led the group personally while driving a specially prepared 1968 Ford Mustang. He made the journey alongside FuelTech USA COO Luis de Leon, which showed just how personal this project is to them.
Participants arrived on Friday evening for a pre-event gathering that featured live music and controlled burnouts to set the mood. The main event followed on Saturday, Feb. 7. The grand opening of FuelTech Motorsports Park officially ran from 5 p.m. until midnight and drew an estimated crowd of 20,000 to 30,000 visitors. The venue was packed with more than 1,000 display cars that lined the track. Fans enjoyed professional drift shows and stunt performances while families explored interactive pit zones and food courts. Many attendees compared the vibe to a mini-SEMA Show because of the sheer variety of entertainment.
This acquisition marks a major shift for the facility. FuelTech aims to mix serious competition with community fun. The massive turnout proves that Brazilian gearheads are hungry for this new vision. The event successfully united drivers and builders in a festival atmosphere. It is clear that the grand opening of FuelTech Motorsports Park is just the start of an exciting future for South American motorsport.
