The Stanley & Weiss Racing CTS-V Pro Mod Has Arrived

We’ve been waiting with bated breath to see the brand-spankin’-new Larry Jeffers Race Cars Cadillac CTS-V of Stanley & Weiss Racing ever since last December when John Stanley and father Camp disclosed to Dragzine that they’d be leaving their current mode of quarter-mile transportation in the dust sometime in 2014. We then shared exclusive photos of the Pro Mod chassis under construction back in February, and today we have photos of the completed car in all its glory.

Jeffers stepped up and offered them an opportunity to get into this new car during last season, and they’ve been anxiously awaiting its arrival ever since. Even with plans for the new car in the works, the team didn’t rest with the proven ’68 Camaro — they ran the quickest quarter-mile door car pass anywhere in the world with a 5.644 blast at over 253 MPH at last fall’s Street Car Super Nationals in Las Vegas.

They’ve taken delivery of the new machine, which features an updated version of the proven Noonan Race Engineering screw-blown HEMI powerplant that’s backed by a Lencodrive transmission and Neal Chance torque converter. Also on board is the Profiler from Davis Technologies, which tuner/crew chief Camp Stanley credits for quite a bit of the team’s record-setting performances last year.

Jeffers and his team, including Garret Livingston, took the Pro Mod chassis-building world to the next level with this machine, the first one in the world to wear one of the LJRC CTS-V carbon-fiber bodies. They’ve stepped away from the in-your-face construction-barrel-orange of the soon-to-be-retired Camaro with this new machine; it’s covered in a slippery silver hue with a sweet set of airbrushed flames that’s been applied by Jeffers Collision Center.

The Stanley & Weiss team is planning to finish out the rest of the PDRA season strong with this new ride once they get a few test laps on it. The SCSN’s inaugural event in St. Louis is coming up over the weekend of August 20-23 — maybe the new machine will be there, taking aim at the old machine’s quarter-mile door car record.

Sponsors on board include Steel Dynamics, Inc., Mickey Thompson Tires, and Tim Fraker Signs.

As famous drag racing announcer Al Tucci says, “That’s a lot of Cadillaction!”
