Hadley Rose Little has been attending racing events since she was a week old, and now at the ripe old age of three, she takes the job of putting her father, Steven Little, into the groove as serious as any crewmember can. Her role became the focal point of a now-viral photograph by Kris Ledford of OG Racing Media at the recent War in the Woods no-prep at Indiana’s Brown County Dragway.
While that task come easy for many of us, Hadley Rose and her mother, Lexi and father Steven, have come a very long way to get to this point. Diagnosed with Intrauterine Growth Restriction in utero and born with two club feet, Hadley Rose underwent months of surgeries and rehabilitation with Metroplex Foot and Ankle Center to get to today, where she can play just like any other child and only has to wear braces at night. No doubt the whole process has been tough for the entire family, but they have made it through to the other side and now Hadley Rose is helping her father out on track.
These photos just happened to be taken on National Club Foot Awareness Day while at the War in the Woods event held on June 4. Steven Little was competing in the small-tire class with his 1971 Camaro, which he has campaigned for the last three years. Little has ICE Race Engines handle the machine work on the Camaro’s LS powerplant and he assembled it using components from Brian Tooley Racing.
The Premier Restorations and Kraken Race Supply proprietor has also competed on the “Street Outlaws: Fastest in America” television show and the Little family has traveled all over the country, attending 17 races in 2023 already and winning at 14 of them. The family that races together stays together, as they say, and Steven, Lexi, Hadley Rose, and Steven’s sons, Hunter and Bradley (now you know where Hadley comes from) are planning on hitting another 15-20 before the end of the year.
With crew chief Elsa keeping things cool before each run, it’s no wonder that Little has had so much success, and so much to be thankful for.
