Velocity Composites has teamed up with famed Pro Mod racer Mike Moran of Moran Racing Engines to become the exclusive manufacturer of the Moran-designed 2013 Pro Mod Mustang body.
Velocity Composites is responsible for all of today’s most popular Pro Modified body designs distributed through Tim McAmis Performance Parts. In addition to Pro Mod body shells, they also produce composite wheel tubs, hood scoops, wings, and other custom carbon-fiber products using years of experience crafting the pieces used in the Pro Modified category.
Velocity Composites and MRE signed an agreement recently to have Velocity produce the body shells that will use Velocity’s advanced technology and processes that have set them apart in the industry. The composites are lighter and stronger, along with offering improved cosmetics and lifespan.
The MRE-designed Mustang was based on Ford’s Pro Stock Mustang design and has been modified by Moran specifically for Pro Mod competition. Improvements were made to significantly reduce the frontal area along with lowering the roofline and laying the windshield back. The wheelwells were shrunk down from the Ford design to provide better aerodynamics, and the rear has been modified to provide better air diffusion at speed.
The made-in-the-USA MRE Mustang design features a 115-inch wheelbase, clearance for 36-inch-tall rear tires, and has a 45-inch front overhang to comply with the rules in all sanctioning bodies.
The Velocity Composites team is already hard at work in the production area, and 2013 MRE Mustang Pro Modified bodies are available through Tim McAmis Performance Parts – the exclusive distributor for Velocity Composites. Check out the website or call them at (636) 338-4912 for more information.
