The CTS-V is Cadillac’s power player and there’s no question about that. With an LSA engine under the hood and a widespread selection of performance parts available, the CTS-V is one of the best bangs for the buck.
The owner of this particular CTS-V Sedan is Rob Sutton, and after he purchased the car, he set out to build the quickest 6-speed manual CTS-V in the world. Back in the beginning of April, Sutton claimed that record in the quarter-mile, and also another record for the world’s fastest stock bottom end CTS-V at the same time. We were surprised when we saw the quarter-mile video, though. CTS-Vs are true sleepers and Sutton’s just enforces that statement. The launch was soft, but the car just takes off down the track, turning into a little spec at the end of the dragstrip in the blink of an eye.
The engine build and tuning was taken care of at Vengeance Racing, a premier LS engine specialty shop located in Georgia. When we saw that Vengeance was on board with this build, we already knew the car was going to be a monster. The LSA received a custom Vengeance Racing camshaft, ZL1 supercharger lid, Alky Control methanol kit, ported blower and snout by Vengeance Racing, 102-mm Nick Williams throttle body, and a slew of other goodies. The modification list is so long, we’re just going to leave it here.
Sutton’s CTS-V is worked inside and out, and is definitely a sleeper. It looks bone stock besides a drop and some ADV.1 wheels until you hear it! It’s CTS-Vs like Sutton’s that make us drool and we hope to see more of it soon.
Here’s the dyno video of the car making 1,216 horsepower and 1,078 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. Enjoy!
