Video: Why It’s Important to Drag Race With Good Seats

Building a drag car is an expensive proposition, and most of the time the money goes into things like the engine, drivetrain, and exterior looks. Safety is an important issue as well, but one place where many people forget to invest in is the one place you’re going to spend the most time in your car; the driver’s seat. We’re not saying everybody should have expensive racing seats in their cars – but you better be sure your seat isn’t one hard launch away from the junkyard.

Just take a gander at this video if you doubt the importance of having a solid seat behind your back. This is a hell of a way to lose a race, wouldn’t you agree?

It is obvious from this brief video where the driver of this well-worn Buick put his money; the engine. The body is crap, the driver has no helmet (nor is he using the seatbelt), but the engine sure sounds mean. Chances are good this was some sort of grudge race, which tells us there’s either money or pride at stake.

We don’t want to spoil what happens in this video. Just watch it, and pay close attention to the driver of the grey Buick as he launches. Too funny, or too sad?
