VP Racing Fuels and the American Drag Racing League, drag racing’s premier sanctioning body for heads-up doorslammer racing, announced on Thursday an extension of their partnership for 2012, marking the fifth consecutive year that VP has served as the Official Racing Fuel of the ADRL. As part of this agreement, VP will continue to post contingency awards in all classes, with their VP C23 and Q16 fuels designated as spec fuels for the Extreme Pro Stock category.
“We are very happy to continue in our role as Official Fuel of the ADRL,” said Steve Scheidker, VP’s Director of Marketing. “It’s a perfect match, as ADRL racers’ efforts to push the edge of the technology envelope are
enabled in great part by VP fuels, which are among the most technologically advanced fuels on the planet.”
ADRL Executive Vice President Jeff Fortune echoed those sentiments as he spoke of the ADRL’s long-standing partnership with VP.
“I’m pleased to continue our partnership with VP Racing Fuels, a race fuel manufacturer that commands unparalleled respect in the industry,” said Fortune. “VP has been a steadfast supporter of drag racing in all forms and we appreciate how they’ve contributed to ADRL’s growth over the years. We’re also cognizant of the important role played by VP’s tech support staff in guiding ADRL competitors in fuel selection, tuning and optimizing their performance.”
Six of the 10 ADRL national events are contested at tracks for which VP Racing Fuels on-site. Because the agreement doesn’t include trackside fuel service, racers must acquire their own fuel in advance of the race events through VP’s nationwide distribution network. At the season opening CarSafe Dragpalooza VIII at the Royal Purple Raceway next weekend, track officials will have available VP110, C12, C16, Q16, and C23 VP Racing Fuels blends, along with M1 and M5 methanol.
