For the past three years, Thunder Valley Raceway Park has played host to Outlaw Armageddon, arguably the most prestigious No Prep race in the world. At each Outlaw Armageddon, the best in No Prep and street racing square off to see who really is king, and 2017 could be the most insane event yet. Justin “Big Chief” Shearer and Shawn “Murder Nova” Ellington are planning to once again enter Outlaw Armageddon and show how fast they are against the best in the business this August 11-12.
The All-Star Shootout at Outlaw Armageddon could be one of the most stacked No Prep races ever with all the big guns from the 405 on the entry list, plus racers like James “Birdman” Finney, Mike Murillo, Chuck Parker and “The 55”, and Larry Larson on the ladder. Every race during the All-star Shootout is going to be a battle that could be the final round at many events, but at Outlaw Armageddon, it’s just the undercard.

According to Nick Duty from Thunder Valley, Chief and Shawn help take the event to that extra level.
“Having the full support of not only Chief and Shawn, but of all of the local racers who have helped support Armageddon and Thunder Valley since the beginning is amazing. That’s what makes this event the World Series of No Prep. It’s a race where a fan can see the best of the best all one place.”
That level of competition is what makes the event so exciting for Ellington, and the fact that the race is in his back yard. “Anybody and everybody who does this style of racing will be here for Outlaw Armageddon and that makes it great. It’s also great because for me it’s local, it’s in front of the hometown crowd, friends, family, and all the people we’ve been racing with for years. This goes beyond the people who see us race on TV; hell, my mom is going to be there.”
Outlaw Armageddon creates a special and unique environment that fans and racers normally don’t get to experience. It’s that level of excitement that provides the electricity in the air and makes Shearer happy to participate.
“Sure, you can go to several different races and see some of these racers, but this is the only race where they’re all in the same place at the same time. You’ll never get the same hometown feel of Thunder Valley Raceway and that’s what makes it so great because all of these people have been there since the beginning. Not one Street Outlaw or No Prep star is being paid to be at this race, so that’s how you know this race is a big deal,” Shearer explains.

Fans can expect to see a lot of Ellington and Shearer on the track as they plan on racing as much as possible during Outlaw Armageddon. “I’m going to run every class my car fits in. If it fits in five and they don’t run on top of each other I will run them all. I’ve heard there’s going to be three that I can race in, and as long as I don’t have more problems than I normally do I will run them,” Ellington says.
Shearer also plans on entering as many classes as he can so he has a shot at winning the big money again. “I’m going to treat this like any other event and enter every class that I can run. I don’t care what class it is, if my car fits the rules and it’s racing at a time my car can enter it, I’m there. I’ll be down to do some grudge racing against someone that’s not in a class I’m racing. Come find me in the staging lanes, get your car up there and I’ll run you.”
With this much on the line, you can be sure that every racer wants to be in the winner’s circle at the end of Outlaw Armageddon.
“Just like several others that were voted into the All-Star Shootout, this may be the only No Prep event that Chief and Shawn compete in this year. It’s not often that you can get this many amazing cars in one place and legitimately find out who’s the fastest. Whoever wins this race will definitely be able to say that they have gone up against the fastest no prep racers in the world and walked away victorious,” Duty says.
The only place you will get to see Big Chief and Murder Nova take on the No Prep world in person is at Thunder Valley Raceway Park August 11-12 during Outlaw Armageddon. All the action will also be broadcast live RIGHT HERE on SpeedVideo.com. The broadcast of Outlaw Armageddon is brought to you by presenting sponsor Comp Cams, along with Mickey Thompson, ProCharger, The Brake Man, UPR Products, Driven Racing Oil, FAST, QA1, PRW Industries, Covercraft, Neal Chance Racing Converters, and Hellion Turbo Systems.
