Discovery Channel Confirms New Show “Street Outlaws: Memphis”

Discovery Channel’s hit show Street Outlaws continues to be one of the highest rated reality shows on cable television and has spawned one spin-off show with Street Outlaws: New Orleans, featuring Kye Kelley and his crew from the deep South. Now, the franchise is growing again.

The Discovery Channel today confirmed its new Street Outlaws: Memphis program, which will premiere on January 15th at 10 pm. ET.

Fans were first introduced to JJ DaBoss and his band of street racers when the ‘405’ paid a visit to the streets of Memphis for some action. That clash led to some of the most intense racing and wildest bets that have ever been aired on Street Outlaws. Things got even more interesting when JJ held his own Arm Drop event in Oklahoma City that was full of drama and cash bets. Team 405 returned to the streets of Memphis during the season 10 premiere to prove they were the best on the streets — but Team Memphis gave them more than they bargained for yet again.

The Street Outlaws: Memphis series will hone in on JJ and his Team Memphis crew, featuring his wife, Tricia, better known as Midget, and cousin, Precious, the “Queen of the Streets”, both of whom are regulars on the street racing scene. There will be plenty of arm drop and chase-is-a-race action with Memphis’ familiar cast of characters, who can hustle and compete with the best of them.

Official release:

Discovery’s hit series STREET OUTLAWS is traveling to the toughest, meanest and wildest streets in the South, as it heads to Memphis to spotlight JJ Da Boss and his team of family and friends who have been racing together for decades. The all new series debuts Monday, January 15th at 10pm ET/PT on Discovery.

In Memphis, it’s all for one and one for all, and no one illustrates that sentiment better than JJ Da Boss and his “Team Memphis” crew.  Along with his wife Tricia and his cousin Precious, also known as the “Queen of the Streets,” fast-talking JJ welcomes viewers into his world where racing is all about pride and honor. Team Memphis has few rules, and its members often put their lives on the line for the hustle of the race. They are “trying to beat ya, not cheat ya,” and are available whenever a challenger emerges.

JJ’s “arm drop” and “chase is the race” styles require knowledge and skill, and his family of racers rarely fails, as success hinges not just on speed, but on their ability to count on their teammates and get each other from “A to B.”

It’s a crazy world full of big characters, who all have colorful histories both on and off the track.  They’re also well-versed in the art of the hustle and bring that to each race.
