Elite Motorsports will add a second Pro Stock car to its operation, with veteran Sportsman driver Mike Trumble Jr. joining Rickie Jones on the team.
Trumble is a familiar name to many, having frequented the winner’s circle for years in Comp, Super Stock, and Stock. He will join Elite Motorsports, which offers complete ride-and-drive operations for Pro Stock, at select events this year, beginning with the O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Spring Nationals presented by Pennzoil, April 9-11 at Houston Raceway Park.
“I am thrilled to be making the move to Pro Stock,” said Trumble. “It is an exciting class and easily a favorite. It’s also one of the toughest classes out there, so I’m excited to take on the challenge. Elite Motorsports is a great operation to work with, and I think we’ll make a great team.”
“We’re very excited to start this ride-and-drive program with Mike,” said Richard Freeman of Elite Motorsports. “He’s been very successful in his Sportsman career, and we feel that he has the right tools to be just as successful in the Professional ranks. We’re going to run this program in association with Rick and Rickie Jones, who field our sponsored car. We have several new engines in our shop, and we’re anxious to get out there and try them. We plan to run the next two events on the schedule and then go from there.
“We also have more ride-and-drive programs in the works and hope to make an announcement soon.”
