The 2010 Cobra Jet is without question one of the baddest Mustangs to ever roll out of a Ford Assembly Plant. With loads of power and aggressiveness – all rolled into a track-ready factory car few can argue with that – the Cobra Jet is a bad, bad ride. But you knew that already. However, you might not know the inside story about what goes into the design and building of a factory Hot Rod like the Cobra Jet.

Many know that the CJ houses a number of aftermarket parts, from suspension to tires to supercharger upgrades. Well, we’ve written here before, the Aeromotive Fuel System work together with the 600+ HP engine to aid in it’s dominance. We found a great article over on Aeromotiveinc.com explaining said system. From what we read, this is the first of a series of tech articles covering this topic. We’ve posted that first one below and we’ll keep an eye out for more later.

Aeromotive Update on 2010 Cobra Jet (from Aeromotive):

As we released before SEMA last year, Ford Racing announced Aeromotive as official fuel system supplier for the 2010 Cobra Jet Mustang. Ford contracted with us to design and develop a fuel system to meet the demands of their Supercharged 5.4L 4-valve Modular Engines that are powering the NHRA legal factory race cars. We saw this as an opportunity to take our Stealth Fuel Systems to the next level.

Originally developed for street performance cars, the Stealth Fuel Systems are a line-up of fuel delivery components that feature proven Aeromotive fuel pumps, like the A1000 and Eliminator, inside the tank. Currently the offering features 15 and 20 gallon aluminum fuel cells as well as fuel tank sump boxes with the pump mounted inside that can be welded into any fuel tank given you an in-tank system no matter what kind of car you have. We also offer a Fox Body Mustang tank that features the Stealth Sump Box already welded in and ready to install.

Through collaboration with Ford engineers, we developed a 6 gallon version of our Stealth Cells featuring and Eliminator Fuel Pump capable of supporting up to 1400 HP in this application. We also worked with Ford and developed an entire system for these cars. From the stealth cell and pump to billet fuel rails, return-style EFI Fuel Pressure Regulator, filters and an assortment of fittings and braided fuel line, we are proud to the OE fuel system on all 2010 Ford Cobra Jet Mustangs.

See the gallery of pictures below to see one of these Stealth Fuel Systems installed on the all black, Aeromotive Cobra Jet.

In addition, Aeromotive is proud to announce that will are now are offering a 6 gallon aluminum Stealth Cell with your choice of an A1000 or Eliminator Fuel Pump built in. Built for the Cobra Jets, this cell is ideal for drag racing and can be retro-fitted into almost any car. To see more about the 6g Stealth Fuel Cells, Click Here.

Coming soon, Aeromotive will release the entire Ford Cobra Fuel System for sale. Consisting of 3 part numbers, you can now buy the entire system just like the ones used by Ford. Convert any SN97 Mustang to a Cobra Jet or fuel your Mustang, regardless of the application with a trick kit built for these cars. Kits will include the Stealth Fuel Cell, filters, regulator, billet fuel rails, y-block, line kits and fittings for a perfectly matched, perfect fitting fuel system.
