When the snow finally melts and the new season dawns, street legal drag racing veteran Bill Lutz won’t be too hard to spot, but the car he’ll be piloting in the ADRL will be anything but his familiar Outlaw 10.5 1967 Camaro.
During the off season, Lutz made the decision to step up to the cut throat world of ADRL Extreme 10.5 racing and purchased a 1969 Camaro that formerly belonged to and was campaigned by Jason Hamstra in Pro Extreme. Hamstra crashed the car during the ADRL event in Topeka this past summer and it was then rebuilt by Scott Brakset Race Cars in Ohio before being acquired by Lutz.
The new car differs substantially from the previous true Outlaw 10,5 ride in that it’s a lightweight, full tube chassis, Pro Modified-style car sporting a carbon fiber Cynergy composites body that’ll handle loads of horsepower and should be several ticks quicker to boot. the car will reportedly receive motivation from a new twin turbo Hemi powerplant. While making the move up to the ADRL, Bill still plans to campaign the ’67 in Outlaw 10.5, which he also plans to outfit with a Hemi so that both cars have the same engine and tuning notes can be shared between the two cars.
Over on Bill’s facebook page, there are several possible renderings of the new car, all similar in design to the ’67 but with varying colors and color layouts. From what we understand, Bill is still trying to decid which of the schems to go with. So maybe you, our faithful DRAGZINE readers, can help him out. So feel free to comment your favorite choice of colors.
