Save the wheels and some cars in the background this shot could have been taken 30 years ago. A clean old school car at an old school track, living the dream in the Florida sunshine.

When Werner Seradin decided to go racing and have some fun he enlisted the help of long time friend Sam Berardi to lend a hand. At the time he had a clean 1964 GTO but didn’t want to beat it up on the track so he looked for a different car. He found this ’65 out of Pennsylvania three and a half years ago, a deal was cut for the ’64, and the swap was done.

The GTO came with a solid engine to build from and long time friend Berardi handled the tear down and assembly after the machine work was completed. He is also responsible for setting the car up while Werner handles the money and driving. Weld Racing Pro Star wheels are wrapped with Mickey Thompson rubber all around, ET series up front and 28″ x 10.5″ slicks out back. The car had been repainted but is otherwise stock with factory chrome and glass. Most of the parts were acquired at various local swap meets or bartered for, keeping it real. The car is simple, effective and mostly stock, showing you don’t need lots of money to have fun; just some common sense and a positive attitude.

The engine came with the car and still retains a stock bore size. The 400 block was line bored and honed and prepped for a stroker crank totaling 462 ci. A 750 CFM Holley carburetor feeds into an Edelbrock Torker intake. Ignition is a reliable MSD 6.
Two batteries and a fuel cell between them reside in the trunk. Yep, it's a little dirty, but that's okay. It is what it is and it's a lot of fun.
The rear is a Ford 9" housing with 4.10 gears. Stock boxed control arms have since been replaced with aftermarket pieces. The fuel is routed through a Fram filter and Carter electric pump. Competition Engineering three-way adjustable shocks dampen the suspension action.
