It’s been quite a month for Neal Chance Racing Converters customers, who have not only garnered wins at several different venues, but have utilized some of the baddest high-horsepower torque converters in the business to lay down some world record performances.

On September 10th, Oklahoma True Ten Five racer Bob Bales became the first racer in the category to record a four-second pass in his fuel injected, single nitrous fogger Big Block Chevrolet-powered Firebird, qualifying #1 in Hot Street at the Tulsa Raceway Park and recording a 4.99 in eliminations before bowing out in the semifinals.

A week later, the formidable Gil Mobley racing team of drivers Chuck Ulsch and Richard Sexton converged on the Maryland International Raceway for the season finale of the Ultimate Outlaw Shootout. There, Ulsch just missed the Outlaw 10.5 world record with a 4.148 blast that qualified him atop the field, but as eliminations opened, it was teammate Sexton that stole the spotlight, clicking off a record 4.140 – surpassing Tim Lynch’s previous class standard. Sexton would go on to claim the Outlaw 10.5 title, defeating a red-lighting TJ Kasper in the final.

Andy Manson, who has been a threat all season long anywhere he shows up with his 275 Drag Radial Mustang, officially captured two championships during the aforementioned Maryland event, first claiming the X275 title for the Ultimate Outlaw series and in the process, winning the MIR X275 title based on the double points being awarded toward the track championship.

At the MDRA event September 17th at Great Lakes Dragway in Union Grove, Wisc., Neal Chance racer Don Kroll won the 275 Radial makeup race from August that was contested during qualifying. Then, follow NCRC racer Tom Olson recorded the first four-second pass in the category – a 4.96 at 145 MPH – and defeated Kroll in the final round with a 5.16.

And last weekend at the ADRL race in Norwalk, Neal Chance was represented in the winners circle in three different classes. In Pro Extreme, Alex Hossler bested Joshua Hernandez in all-NCRC final round that turned weird when Hernandez red-lit and Hossler broke a blower belt. Neal Chance racer Jason Scruggs also qualified atop the field with a career best 3.622.

In Extreme 10.5, Grant McCrary powered to his first ADRL win aboard his new twin turbocharged Dodge Stratus, dowing Chuck Ulsch in the money round with an unbelievable 3.849 at 200 MPH to U;sch’s 3.887 at 210.08.

And in Pro Modified, Lee Adkins took the victory over Pete Farber, setting low ET of the race in the final round at 3.903 at 191.59 MPH.
