Justin Swanstrom is always looking for new ways to expand his footprint in drag racing, whether it’s through racing different classes or hosting events like SWANFEST at Rockingham Dragway. The action at SWANFEST was intense thanks to big purses and grudge races all weekend long. There was something for everyone at SWANFEST, from the $100,000-to-win Extreme 275 Shootout to index racing.
Travis Harvey is no stranger to racing for racks of cash under the lights at a drag strip. The spotlight has never been too bright for Harvey, and he’s delivered big time at no time events behind the wheel of Justin Swanstrom-owned machines. SWANFEST was no exception as Harvey dominated in the two biggest races of the weekend.
The $100,000-to-win Extreme 275 Shootout was the headlining class at SWANFEST. If you had a bad-fast hot rod on a set of 275 radial tires, you were at Rockingham Dragway chasing the big money. At the end of the night, it was Travis Harvey behind the wheel of Swanstrom’s “Money Bag” Camaro, collecting the $100,000 payday in the Extreme 275 Shootout.
All Steel All Glass (ASAG) racing has turned into a class full of absolute monsters. With $50,000 on the line to win ASAG at SWANFEST, plenty of killer cars showed up to Rockingham Dragway. Once again, the Harvey/Swanstrom combination paid off as Travis piloted “Prenup” to the winner’s circle in ASAG.
When the lights went out at “The Rock” after SWANFEST, it was clear the event was a success. Fans were treated to plenty of great racing, and the competitors got to race for some solid payouts on a track that was set on kill. Don’t be surprised when the next SWANFEST is bigger and features more of the fastest no time cars in the country.
